Food waste/food saves

10 Oct

Wasted: a few green beans from #2Child’s dinner.  About 1/3 c. of cooked rice noodles. Part of a pomegranate, I think it was too much of a commitment for #2.

Saves: last night dinner was slow-cooker pork with leftover starch courtesy of the fridge (3 different kinds of pasta, see rice noodles above).

Got some of the clothes that supposedly replace paper towels, we’ll see how the household adapts to them.

Gas is screamingly expensive, almost $4.80/gallon. I’ll continue to keep an eye out for a serviceable bike, although that doesn’t help with the child transport issue.

Found your wonderful blog through Non Consumers Advocate! I am adding you to my blog roll as it looks like you are doing some similar things that I am striving for! Can’t wait to read more of your blog!

Hi! Thanks for your lovely comment. I’m trying to use this blog to keep myself honest and motivated. And also to vent, just warning you! I’m still figuring out some of wordpress’s features but will try to add your blog and to jazz up this one a bit.
